About Anthony
Anthony began his performing career in the Washington, D.C. area; At the tender age of 9, he was cast as "The King" in a school production of "The Frog Prince"; in addition to acting, Anthony found a "voice" by performing in various school ensembles, including: Jazz Vocal, Choir, and an elite Acapella Group, "The Madrigals". In High School, Anthony was one of the “Morning Announcers”; He was also the voice of various sports teams, including Basketball, Soccer, Football and Baseball.
Not to be outdone by his accomplishments on the stage, Anthony also received accolades on the football field, earning his first Varsity Letter in only his sophomore year. Over the next 4 years, Anthony would be cast in over a dozen various shows, including a two-year stay with “Street Theatre” a youth outreach program that focused on minority achievement in performing arts.
After High School, Anthony enjoyed a brief stint with a Semi-Pro Football team, and continued to refine his skills as a performer by attending George Mason University. (Fairfax, Virginia)Under the tutelage of Professor Lynnie Raybuck (A Helen Hayes Award Winner), Anthony learned the finer points of Improv, Physical Comedy, and stage presence.
In 2000, Anthony attended an open casting call for Mtv’s “The Real World”; after a number of call-backs he had finally made the final call before casting. The opportunity didn’t pan out however, and Anthony continued to live the “Actor Lifestyle” by working at a local Mexican Restaurant. Over the next few years, he would struggle to balance work and family, while maintaining the dreams of his childhood.
In 2005, Anthony auditioned and was cast in Pasquinade Films “7-11 The Hit Musical!” An Independent Film Company, Pasquinade gave Anthony his first opportunity to shine onscreen as the character “Moebius Simmons”. Anthony was blessed to work with Pasquinade Films again in October ’06, playing the role of “Tony” in the quirky Christmas short “Candi Claus”.
Anthony and his wife Kellie relocated to the Chicago area in January 2007; since then, he has been in a dozen films, and various Commercials, Music Videos, and Voice-Over roles. Excited about the future, Anthony has currently signed on to do an internet web series “CCR”, and is continuing to pursue larger and more challenging roles. Ultimately, Anthony has one goal in mind: Entertain as many audiences as possible and enjoying himself every step of the way. |
